Trade Lead Description:

Most manufacturers of bottles need caps. The CAP series of injection moulding machines cater to the bottle cap market.

Unlike preforms, caps are thin walled parts which presents a whole new set of requirement for the injection moulding machines. The machine screw diameter is big to increase plasticizing capacity. The injection should be repeatable. The cycle time is short as caps are low-cost. Like preform moulding, however, cap moulding is multi-cavity which requires a large clearance between tiebars.

The four members in the CAP series cover a number of cavities from 16 to 48. Semi-closed loop proportional values ensures repeatability. The platen motion is high speed so cycle time is below 7 seconds. A dual pump option reduces cycle time further. The clearance between tiebars is among the highest.

HDPE and PP are the most common types of resin for making bottle caps. The injection moulding of caps are much simpler than PET preforms as HDPE and PP need not be pre-dried. Fu
