Certol International, LLC was founded in January, 1979 by the Cottrell’s in their home in Franktown, Colorado. Beginning with cotton swabs, next a line of dental sutures and finally a line of infection control products, Certol became a distributor to dental dealers in the dental market. After the death of Rock Hudson from AIDS and the national attention this brought to immune deficiency’s, the infection control business in the dental market expanded and Certol moved from being merely a distributor of its products to a manufacturer for a substantial portion of its product line.
Currently, Certol International is a manufacturer of high level disinfectants (ProSpray, Pathex, ProPhene Plus and Vital Defense), instrument cleaning and/or lubrication solutions (ProEZ1, ProEZ2, ProEZ AW, ProEZ foam and ProClense Plus), an instrument sterilization solution (V-Cide), evacuation system cleaner (ProEvac), and environmental surface barriers (ProBarrier).
