TANIN SEVNICA D.D. is a company with 85 years of tradition. It is a profit oriented organisation in private ownership and belong to SME category – activity covers wood chemistry. It employs 130 people, 18 of them have a university degree and 7 persons with a high schools of a different directions. Beside, it employs also some experienced technicians. For some R&D project also outer experts are engaged from Slovenia and abroad. TANIN is successfully managing all R&D projects on their own or it cooperates like a partner in many EU projects.
TANIN is producing tannin extracts from a sweet chestnut wood. They are used mainly as tanning agents for vegetable leather tanning. From the extracted wood are produced also other products like, Furfural and Sodium Acetate. And finally, the wooden elements and wood coatings. Last 18 years we have started with producing a natural extracts from a sweet chestnut and oak woods for the human and animal nutrition, too.
