Salmson South Africa (Pty) Ltd (SSA) was
formed in December 2001 as a wholly owned
subsidiary of Salmson SAS, France.
In 2004, SSA acquired the businesses of it’s
biggest distributor, namely, Aquanox (Pty) Ltd
and all it’s wholly owned subsidiaries, trading as
FTT, This was concluded on 1 May 2005. Prior to
the acquisition, SSA shares were transferred
from Salmson SAS to Wilo A.G., the 100%
shareholder in Salmson SAS.
Effective 1 May 2005, SSA acquired 100% of the
shares in Aquanox (Pty) Ltd.
Effective 31 December 2006, SSA acquired the
FTT Companies as going concerns.
The individual Companies have not traded as
separate entities since 1 January 2007.
The trading name Salmson FTT was used from 1
January 2007 until 1 January 2008, when we
reverted to Salmson. From 1 January 2011, we
have used the trading name Wilo South Africa,
to reflect the name of the parent Group in
Germany.
