COVID-19 (Corona Virus Disease) est une maladie infectieuse causée par le coronavirus le plus récemment découvert, le SRAS-CoV-2 (2019-nCoV).

Le test rapide pour le diagnostic du SRAS-CoV-2 permet une détection qualitative des IgG et/ou des IgM dans le sérum, le sang total ou le plasma humains en 10 à 15 minutes environ.

Les tests rapides sont basés sur le principe de l'immunochromatographie à flux latéral et sont disponibles sous forme de cassette. Le test est basé sur la séparation des composants d'un mélange à travers un milieu en utilisant la force capillaire et la liaison spécifique et rapide d'un anticorps à son antigène.

Les IgM et IgG sont des immunoglobulines produites par le système immunitaire pour assurer une protection contre le SRAS-CoV-2. Les IgM et IgG anti-SARS-CoV-2 peuvent donc être détectées dans les échantillons des patients affectés.
