Vanilla is the fruit of an orchid
plant, which grows in the form
of a bean pod. Hand-harvesting
occurs four to six months after
the fruit appears on the vines. Once harvested, the green
beans go through a treatment
process lasting another six
months where the beans are
soaked in hot water, rolled in
blankets to "sweat," dried on
flats in the sun to evaporate
the water, and then stored in a
ventilated room to slowly
ferment and produce their
unique aroma and flavour. We
are one of the best Vanilla
Bean producers from south
India.
There are 3 grades of Vanilla
available: 1. Grade A: Around 16 cms, Vanillin content of around 1.9-
2.1 %
2. Grade B: Around 12 - 16
cms, Vanillin content of around
1.4%
3. Grade C: Below 12 cms, Vanillin content of around 1 to
1.1%
4. Bulk (60% A, 30% B, 10%
C): Vanillin content of around
1.5 %
All the grades have mositure
content of around 22-25%.
